@Rasp A lot of shows suck in their first season because they're trying to get their footing.
I don't remember the show name (although if I take five minutes I could find out) but I heard somebody talking about it, how it was flat for like six episodes and the writers suddenly figured out how to make it great.
I hadn't heard of Dragon Prince until this post so unfortunately I can't tell you what you're missing.
