I may be misreading but it seems to me that Renaud isn't *against* making the needed changes, and he's only lamenting the lack of resources.
Given that a hard fork isn't free by any means, wouldn't it be more cost-effective to help Mastodon do what they're saying they want to do anyway (eg. blocklist sync etc) and make sure they work on those features until the place is deemed safe by the Black community?
