So when the leaders of this movement are just letting their cracker flag fly, the folks defending it are basically reduced to saying "it's not racist till he puts on the white robe and dunce cap" - no need to put effort into finding out if that person is just ignorant and absurdly in their feels about whiteness anymore. They're pretty obviously just racist themselves, defending racist leaders doing racism.

Again it's not an "upside" but it does make dealing with them a bit easier.
