@ryo Pokecoomer should have been pokeconsoomer. Actual pokecoomers only care about R34 of the girls (maybe some of the pokemon too). I happen to consider that the only reason to still be into pokemon other than fan games and maybe the old games a bit.

Though honestly, they were never very good games. People do so many challenge runs for a reason, and that reason is that the actual game design is so shit that you have to invent your own challenges for the games to even be worth playing. Still, Gen 1 is the best generation, because it's the most broken, because of all the glitches. Even more so in Japanese Red and Green, though the western releases have a few original glitches somehow.

Anyway, the franchise is so fucked that I have seen at least a couple big competitive players say that they don't know anything about the current generation. I think we may end up with a Super Smash Bros. Melee type of situation, with competitive players playing old games forever because the new ones aren't good enough. I wonder which generation most of them would pick. Which is the best generation competitively, for most players? It would definitely not be Gen 5. Pretty sure that's a gigantic train wreck to this day.

By the way, I still watch Pokemon videos (like these masterpieces: https://yewtu.be/watch?v=0_iIVNV_AMA https://yewtu.be/playlist?list=PLgMsuDQt6kvETrm06l4HqFXc0qAXtX_2N ), and they are almost all about gen 1. It's such a fun generation just because of how insane and broken it is.

To me, Pokemon is almost two franchises. Classic Pokemon is Gen 1 and 2. Gen 3 is a good generation, but it was a massive shift in tone and even in gameplay, though not really in quality. Gen 6 was the first sign of decline, Gen 7 was a progression of that, and Gen 8 was the "it's fucking over" generation. As soon as DLC became a thing in Pokemon, I thought "this franchise is fucking dead" (based take on this subject: https://yewtu.be/watch?v=3I1f2J1JS3E ).

How do you feel about Pokemon Sword/Shield Paid DLC?
Figured I may as well highlight this small rant just because I know I'm gonna get asked about it a fair bit over the coming days. I also put up my feelings on twitter a bit more fleshed out as well: https://twitter.com/wersterlobe/status/1215474732046307328 Stay Connected: Twitter: https://twitter.com/wersterlobe Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/werster Twitch stream: https://www.twitch.tv/werster Discord server: https://discord.gg/0jCpl8wIKvQWXJaP Speedrun profile: http://www.speedrun.com/user/werster
