This is about any potential future instances that I need to look through. This first part is just going over the relatively prominent fediverse microblogging solutions. The next will list any that piqued some interest.

GoToSocial:
It's all private single user instances from what I can tell and I'm not in the right space to become a server admin for now.

Epicyon:
See GoToSocial. Also this is probably the one fedi solution that I know about the least.

Honk:
See GoToSocial.

Misskey (+ derivatives):
Slow as heck to browse through, no thanks.

Mastodon:
Faster than Misskey but MRFs and the bubble timeline are too handy to ignore. Also higher maintenance == shorter potential instance lifespan

Pleroma:
When one finds an admin and/or community that isn't filled with temporarily embarrassed feds, the experience is quite good. But maintenance seems to get out of control with over 50-100 regular posters.

Akkoma:
Pleroma but with more bells and whistles (bad) like the bubble timeline (good).
