@multiverseofbadness I wonder if the nostalgia is based around the “experience” that people assume to have existed by going to blockbuster.
Driving to the store, wandering around looking at the movies, getting the terrible microwave popcorn they sold, movie night, etc.
In that sense, I can kinda understand as it seems more “lived” than sitting on the couch mindlessly scrolling through Netflix for hours but oof. Mindlessly wandering up and down the aisles of blockbuster and then driving home with your plan-z selection was irritating
