@meeper @ruin perfect storm really, food quality and safety regulations are quite loose here, and there was a series of controversies here that led to McDs dropping ingredients (for example, beef tallow for the fries) that *used* to be used in order to make the food taste good, in favor of objectively worse "healthy" or "plant based" ingredients (the "you will live in a pod and you will eat the bugs" people actually have a point, even if they express it in close to the worst way possible)
