On image metadata alone I think mat2 removes more than exiv2.

Also IIRC there is actually more on image forensics, like extracting the characteristics of a camera model or even the difference between a specific camera of the same model (due to the flaws in manufacturing). So there is way to guess how likely the same image is taken by the same camera and we should keep this in mind too.
