- Embed this notice@lovelymiss @Obfuskation I had to read a legal case once about a woman in Berkeley who got taken. Was a "traveling Professor" who rented her house out while she was in foreign parts. Rented to a jewish professor specializing in rental law (or something like that).
She left. He never paid. She had to come back. He refused to leave. He knew the legality of what he was doing flawlessly.
I was reading this and thinking, "He was also a traveling professor. Which meant he taught classes. Which meant he left the house. Why the fuck didn't she just wait for him to leave and change the locks? And then squat inside her own house? What's he going to do, call the cops and say he needs access to this house he doesn't legally live in?"
It's shit like that.
At worst, as you say, just burn the fucking thing down. Then you lost your property by your own hand, rather than having somebody take it from you. And if they happen to be inside at the time? "No officer, I have no idea how the fire started, and I don't know who the immolated corpses were. Must have been robbers who fucked up."
