@Omega_Variant DIY is way more fun. Just watch for board cupping because all the softwood lumber sucks these days. I'd go with cabinetry grade plywood like sande and rip it yourself. That's under $70 a sheet right now for 3/4“ and it's very nice stuff that won't need much sanding.
