i've noticed in countries where there is an established socialist tradition there will be a wider range politically, or their analysis is based on political lived reality rather than pure anti-americanism, like the Marxist Leninists in Russia are in the underground resistance to Putin. In India, Phillipines etc. Numerous ML organizations oppose Chinese imperialism etc. The western tank basically amplifies the most reactionary and state-aligned Marxists around their world because it fits into the 1950's caricature of communism that they've identified with.
