@Twig @JohnSmith87298753 @koropokkur I know this. The reasons were not altruistic or out of love for the slaves. it was pressure from abolishonists but largely about punishing The South. I'm no fan of slavery of any form, but doing a law specifically to screw over a sizeable portion of the country and consilidate power in tbe process is not something to celebrate. There never should've been slaves in America, but I can't celebrate Lincoln the tyrant for what he did to my brothers.
