Charlie Stross@jalcine It's ethno-nationalist racist resentment, and to those of us who were around and watching tech in the 1980s it's deja vu all over again, except back then it was anti-Japanese paranoia.
Luckily back then Japan was broadly aligned with the west so it was more like a bad-tempered family feud than something that could bleed over into war. Or this kind of lethally toxic hostile propaganda.
