    Surely my audio device/speakers wouldn't be permanently "gone" because the last audio sink I selected was HDMI audio out? (As in, across multiple system reboots)

    Well, yesterday I tried anyway, connecting an HDMI cable and trying to change the audio-out... Oh look at that, my speakers are back.

    I can't reproduce the problem anymore either. Computers are weird. 🤷
