It feels good to think that socially valudated authorities are 'dealing with the matter' and that everything is going to be okay, not that the big boys are doing the right thing. That in itself is the dynamic by which many disagreeable things have been allowed to happen.
I don't know what either of your political positions are so I speak for myself:
My political opponents introduced gay marriage because my peers wrote to their MPs and made polite discourse over legitimacy, when what we should have done is burned down their homes and lynched any faggots in office. My opponents brought negros to my home because we argued about semantic of racism and visa application rules, what we should have done is shot every nig who was seen here.
That is the point i was making when i say the days of strongly worded letters has expired. I'm not taking side in your 'you are wrong, no you are wrong' thread. I was specifically referring to the single comment i responded to.
