Each dot on the map represents a wastewater sampling site. Sites are categorized based on the current level of influenza A compared to the past levels at the same site during the 2023-2024 influenza season. When influenza A virus levels are at the 80th percentile or higher, CDC will work with relevant partners to better understand the factors that could be contributing to these levels.Map with circle markers for wastewater sites. Color scale runs from minimal (dark green) to high (dark purple) with grey for insufficient data.Dark purple dots evident in northeast Illinois, northwest Oregon, and east Kansas. Lighter purple in southwest and northwest Oregon and northeast Texas.Green dots dense in Illinois, along central western California, and in Delaware.Grey dots fill Ohio and states southwest into North Carolina. Northern east coast and much of west coast also show multiple monitoring sites, mostly in grey, as does Wisconsin.
