without line go uppers fucking with it, that just leaves the black market. which functions with a bleeding efficiency a state managed market never can. if you look at the value fluctuations monero looks a lot closer to USD than it does a penny stock.
this is where i initially came up with the theory that there is literally nothing special about fiat vs crypto other than inertia. the USD just has so many people selling steak at 20$ that it takes the money printers a long time for the market to correct, whereas the market for BTC is just so much smaller (mostly its just people doing forex, so its just speculators fighting speculators, and not many people transacting at fixed prices.)
basically the fact that zoom prices a microphone at 200$ and doesn't spend all day trying to update their prices is what makes fiat look stable
