I don't have any problem with this logic, and I absolutely agree with point "-1". The things I've seen have been insignificant differences and are, by my understanding, more of a question of potential clarification text or copy errors. My standard Bible is NKJV or BSB via Bible hub, or RSV second edition NT Catholic Study Bible. I find little differences between these, although sometimes the wording is smoother on one or another. The study Bible is great because it's loaded with footnotes. One can make an argument for updated translations as a fulfillment of The Great Commission, especially if they're true in spirit and accuracy, although I do lean towards more of a prescriptivist take. The question becomes whether "the earliest" is the most accurate for textual variants, and I'm in no position to say.

My ancestors likely used other translations. I find KJV perfectly valid, and I don't hate on it like some of the turbospergs I've met.

I'm not too familiar with those, but I do agree there are other good versions. IMO the best Bible is the one you read regularly, provided it doesn't neuter the language and Word of God—literally and figuratively.
