@lucy @pi55d I mean Cyrillic letters have always been pronounced the same way, there's been letters that have gone out of use or new ones have been added in some alphabets but that's it. i think in a non-phonetic writing system it'd be harder to decipher old text because if the language changes there'd be entirely new rules on how a bunch of letters are supposed to be pronounced
