   @pi55d @lucy yes if all the letters are pronounced the way theyre written theres no problem even if the language changes the pronunciation stays the same

     @lucy @pi55d I mean Cyrillic letters have always been pronounced the same way, there's been letters that have gone out of use or new ones have been added in some alphabets but that's it. i think in a non-phonetic writing system it'd be harder to decipher old text because if the language changes there'd be entirely new rules on how a bunch of letters are supposed to be pronounced

     dude was like "imma draw a bunch of cute little eyes for this many eyed seraphim itd be so cool" not realizing this choice will be reflected in a wikipedia article and fedi thread in 600 years
