But in my view, it's also a movie about other movies, written as a love letter to late '90s/early '00s cinema like Adaptation, Fight Club, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It's really about how a teenage Sarnoski immersed himself into this whole genre of absurdist films as an escape to help work through the death of his father.
