Tourism isn't super big. You'd think it would be, given that the area is in the Arctic and has fairly good infrastructure, given the circumstances.
The primary school had 300 pupils and the middle school had about 200.
There have been talks about extending the rail network up there for ages, but nothing ever materialises. It goes as far north as Narvik, with a connection to Sweden. So yes, you're always driving or flying to get out. It takes 2.5 hours to get to Oslo, the capital, from there.
