that appearance surely depends on your base node and connections. some virtual neighborhoods self-select for certain traits, whether for safety or out of prejudice. there's diversity even WRT the traits, the motivations, and the observable alignments depending on the parts of the network one gets to and seeks to experience. the main defining feature I've noticed is non-uniformity. but yeah, this problem is present in many human communities, and since this is a network of people, it's also present here. technology alone won't solve social problems.
