@neuronakaya I'd say, just do it. Most people today forget that there are factors to consider:
1. Culture
2. Context
3. Language barrier / different usage of the same words/phrases.
I see it a lot in moderation (both here in the Fediverse and in online games), a person was [often] reported by native English speakers because of this and that. But after a thorough investigation it all comes down to native English speakers failed to consider those factors I mentioned above.
For example, while Filipinos and Indians speak English, our respective English variants are not the same as the Western variants (British, Australian, American). Sure, in the case of Philippine English where it is a combination of British, Australian, and American variants, it still is different because of the many Philippine influences in it. There are as much differences as there are similarities. One such is the way the words “we”/“us” are used.
Then it becomes a question of, “should we adopt to the demands of the majority, or be true to our own?”
I say, be true to your own. It's your culture, it's how you use and understand the language, and you know the context. Anyone who wants to react negatively or brand you this and that, should be the ones to step on the breaks, not you. They need to learn to ask and clarify first, not them imposing their (often _personal_) standards and culture on you.
