I'm not going to put up with it, either. That being said, the evil of this plan is not the physical construct of a "pod" to sleep in. It's the displacement and the putting 16 people in one house, and none of them are related by blood. That's the evil part. The furniture one uses to sleep or whatever, that's totally ancillary.
I could see myself using a "pod" like this, especially if they make it like a soundproof, temperature-controlled ventilated little box that's ideal specifically for sleeping. So the kids can make a huge racket and I can have the temperature at like 60F, which is comfiest for me to sleep in, and the rest of the house can be at 70F, which is ideal for wakefulness.
I realize this is a bit of a hot take lmfao but there you go. I've always had some attraction to futurist shit. I'd just like the pump the brakes on the dystopia part.
