NEETzsche (neetzsche@iddqd.social)'s status on Wednesday, 24-Apr-2024 23:07:06 JST NEETzsche I'm not going to put up with it, either. That being said, the evil of this plan is not the physical construct of a "pod" to sleep in. It's the displacement and the putting 16 people in one house, and none of them are related by blood. That's the evil part. The furniture one uses to sleep or whatever, that's totally ancillary.
I could see myself using a "pod" like this, especially if they make it like a soundproof, temperature-controlled ventilated little box that's ideal specifically for sleeping. So the kids can make a huge racket and I can have the temperature at like 60F, which is comfiest for me to sleep in, and the rest of the house can be at 70F, which is ideal for wakefulness.
I realize this is a bit of a hot take lmfao but there you go. I've always had some attraction to futurist shit. I'd just like the pump the brakes on the dystopia part.

NEETzsche (neetzsche@iddqd.social)'s status on Wednesday, 24-Apr-2024 23:13:15 JST NEETzsche It is very unfortunate, yeah. And I think they got a lot of STEM geeks to sign away their soul for the cool new toys over this. You get someone relatively naive who asks, "How can I make life better through my engineering/tech education?" and while the real answer might be "make a little box that's great for sleeping in and isolates you from all the environmental hazards that could disturb that," jews swoop in and say, "all of that, also here's your foreclosure."
It's really no wonder why I see so many of ourguys wanting to return to monkey. I think it's wrong-headed, but it is what it is.

sj_zero (sj_zero@social.fbxl.net)'s status on Thursday, 25-Apr-2024 00:13:13 JST sj_zero In Burlington Ontario they found a basement where 25 different people were living. Not a pod in sight, just a whole bunch of traditional beds in way too small of a space.
It makes a lot more sense when you realize that none of them were locals. None of them intended to raise their families in 25 bed basements, they intended to come to ontario, make as much money as they could, and then send it back to their home countries where their families could live like kings thanks to the currency differential. Meanwhile, locals are competing in the same labor market.
All the while Galaxy brained retards keep going "muh GDP" as if they get paid in gdp and not in wages.NEETzsche likes this.
