Though wireless is always less secure than wired, and will forever be that way, with or without free drivers.
And as @wrongthink already pointed out, feel free to use proprietary soyware if you want to, there should be a FOSS option available because I want to run all liberated software (even though I know this is all a pipe dream), and while I'm encouraging others into doing so too, I'm in no way forcing anyone into doing so, which is often the case with proprietary soyware supporters.
