@bmacDonald94 @stevewfolds @kcarruthers The last man to live in an iron lung, Paul Alexander, died last month. I was in hospital as a child with a girl who had come to Australia as a Vietnamese refugee with polio. The effects of polio are close enough to recent history that the the thought of this preventable, eradicated disease returning should truly frighten folks.
