I think he's one of the greatest artists in history.It's one thing to be great in film and comedy today, with 100+ years of examples to crib from, it's another thing to essentially pull the art form from the ether yourself. Chaplin didn't really have anybody to imitate, his comedy was all from his own mind, and it's still referenced a century later (and hilarious). An honest to god genius who wasn't appreciated in his own time.
