We've planted about 120 herbaceous, 10 intersectional (Itoh hybrids), and about 40 tree peonies. They thrive in many zones except warm ones. They need winter chill to survive. We're in zone 8b, #PNW. Ants can be washed off, though we have very few. Tree peonies are opening here, but no herbaceous peonies yet.
