I grew up in an era where women were newly blinking in the amazing sudden light of legalized birth control and abortion rights.

It was very much a time of excitement for the future where we would all finally be free to make our own choices, having come out of a long dark chamber of repression, control, and danger.

It has never been a given and that must never be forgotten.
