In California, a woman can get a dvro (domestic violence restraining order) stay away order, ex parte, which includes a gun confiscation order by default, the same day the application is made on declaration alone, without notice or right to pre-order hearing. This can result in the man being kicked out of his own home under threat of arrest or contempt.

Perjuries are never prosecuted because "it may scare away legitimate cases," and dvros are specifically exempt from abuse of process and malicious prosecution claims.
