As long as they're not banned from there, they will return.

Just look at how it went back in 2017 when Japanese artists moved from Shitter to Mastodong over getting banned for posting ero drawings (this is when I got to know about Mastodong, as it appeared all over the Japanese news sites at the time, especially Yahoo and IT Media).
After a while, the whole Mastodong craze dried up, and most just returned to Shitter, few remained on whichever instance they were on or moved to Pawoo because friends.nico shut its doors, and mstdn.jp and Pawoo got taken over by someone else, and some ended up using both Shitter and Mastodong.
