Their downfall as a band came slowly bit by bit from minor friction over their name.

Because they were in fact formed specifically as a trio Kid Creole (August Darnell), Coati Mundi (Andy Hernandez) and Adriana Kaegi. All who sang and would take center stage at points but they chose their name to call back to bands from the 30s. Which ended with promoters, radio jockeys, and journalists always assuming Kid Creole was the band.
