@sun i think it's dysfunction in the industry, they are making lots of movies know that should be good but just aren't (all the indiana jones and star wars stuff, for example). and it's not even just incompetence, the now-hated also kathleen kennedy produced ET, who framed roger rabbit and the original indy movies. All the creative talent is now in youtube, tiktok or videogames, so movies will probably half-die or at least shrink a lot. It'll be interesting to see what AI-assisted movie generation will do to the market.
