silverpill@gabriel Yes, state funding is a red flag, even if it comes from innocuously looking proxies like NGI. Just like stewardship by for-profits, this creates a conflict of interest. I generally prefer projects that are maintained by accomplished developers who have other sources of income, or funded exclusively by donations.
