I use to talk to people all the time on the phone in high school. Now I hate talking to people on the phone and prefer text or hang out in real life. I know people my age and older who really prefer phone calls. It's not an age thing. It's more rare for people to do calls, but there are a lot of people in every age range who prefer them.
I think one of the big reasons I hate calls is the cellphone. With analog landlines, there was nearly no delay. Communication felt instant. Most still had a digital conversion in the loop, but the delay was unnoticeable.
Today, the lag is always noticeable. All land lines are really shitty VoIP. Even with Zoom, Skype, whatever you use, there's a few ms delay that did not exist in the 90s. I fucking hate it.
