My primary concern as far as religion (and by extension, metaphysics) is concerned is whether or not something is true and the ability of that system to provide answers with explanatory power to whatever underlying questions I can think of. Anything other than that is at best short-sighted, and at worst, absolutely cynical. If you are "bringing it back" because you sincerely believe it's true, your ancestors would disagree, because they converted. If you're bringing it back just because it's politically expedient or some similar reason, then you aren't concerned with the truth, and would likely be perfectly fine with structuring White identity around lies so long as they make you feel good.
