@flancian yeah it was. there were silly gifs everywhere. people made fansites for the most obscure games. IRC was alive and well.

there was a lot of individual's doing cool and fun things. and sometimes spicy things or disagreement but you could still be friends with people even if you disagreed on who the best president was.

i remember browsing download.com in the early 2ks looking at all the cool shareware shit people made.
