@liztai I really love this. And I love all that code-switching. Here in Taiwan, often sentences are mash-ups of Mandarin and Hokkien, with the odd English word thrown in. It gives things a rumbustious getting-by, communication-is-the-thing kind of feel. The more I get used to it, the more I dare to speak my rudimentary Hokkien, because I know when it inevitably fails, I can throw in bits of Mandarin, and that's cool. And when my Mandarin fails, I throw in bits of English, and that's cool too.
