the technopoly bit that states optimization, aka updates, has to happen for the sake of "progress" regardless of purpose is something I've been noticing for a very long time now

I hate when companies needlessly update and redesign software just for the sake of it.

it's why I hate updates, and in fact, rarely update my stuff. shit just works as is. updating usually results in features getting removed or the thing breaking. it's why I despise updatefags by extension who insist that you have to ALWAYS keep your software up-to-date because of "security"
