@kaia as a german this always felt very odd to me.

Pushing all the oddballs to the american colonies surely backfired in this regard.

Germany isn't even the most "extreme" example. Some more eastern EU states have full frontal nudity of children in their movies / shows and due to culture they are fine with that. And I fully support them. To me it's the modesty warriors who are unnatural and not the other way around
