@Pawlicker @SAKURARadiochan @coolboymew I think the emphasis on CDs also hurt the homebrew scene long term, X68000 doujin groups had a much lower barrier to entry writing and distributing floppies while Fujitsu mainly packaged the homebrew stuff for their system on pressed CDs as part of the "Free Software Collection", until CD-Rs became viable when the FM Towns was already pretty much dead.
