OTOH just buying into all the authoritarian madness probably explains it. Maybe you're the one who brought up the kids. Fine. Fair enough if you secretly envy strong women who made a carreer and have choices. Unlike you. Makes it easier to tell everybody how that's not how it's supposed to be.
