when you let a fiduciary manage your 401k, people don't typically don't look at every detail of where your money goes or why. Did your manager just invest in google? Why did he invest in google? Was it because they came out with promising new technology or because they appointed a tranny to their boars of directors.

In the short term it doesn't actually matter because the stock market is about speculation and more people investing in google (done by the same portfolio mangers) makes the stock go up even more.

Long term that's obviously not sustainable but they don't care.
