@anildash I learned at a community board meeting last year that there’s a clause in the police union contract guaranteeing all on-duty cops a parking spot at the precinct.

Related: someone at the MTA congestion pricing hearing was complaining that the cops and firefighters living outside the CBD won’t want to work in Manhattan anymore if they’re not exempt and that sounded like a feature to me 🤷♂️
