- Embed this notice@til @eris @astronema yeah, getting into a broader discussion of whiteness, the more that the settler-colonialism which necessitated creating racial categories developed, the more it gave material privileges to white people in exchange for their complicitness in the subjugation of POC. this again is the origins of the white middle class and where the concept of a labor aristocracy makes sense, because it's not something that has always been just a way of tricking the white working class, it also has at times resulted in them benefiting from it materially. there is a point where white people arguably cease to meaningfully even be proletarian, but it's also temporary until another crisis in capital happens
