@MisuseCase I'll add that another really good takedown of the overpopulation argument is from Pope Francis' encyclical "Laudato Si" - while writing from a Catholic perspective, Francis puts those arguing that overpopulation is the problem firmly in their place, and argues that overpopulation arguments are used against those who have caused the least amount of environmental damage.
