Tbf, it's had 9 justices for pretty much the lifetimes of everyone still alive. Not saying that change is impossible, just means we have to work harder to socialize/justify change. If we focus on showing that there was a hierarchy from appellate courts to justices that is no longer equitable, we can show how the SC has deviated from it's historic size.
