- Embed this notice@alex We do need to abolish the semiannual timeshift, but I think the opposite direction is ideal. Permanent DST. Shift all Western hemisphere clocks to the DST position and don't change them back or forward after the change.

I am under no such delusion. I like having more usable time (not darkness) to do fun things with my family and enjoy the outdoors. Shifting to DST means the parts of the year with longer daylight (summer) coincide with more of that time spent outside of the 9-5 range. I would rather finish work while it's light and enjoy the nice outdoor weather.
